Supporting plastic-free and sustainable ‘green’ initiatives for businesses, communities and individuals in Minehead and beyond
This website has been designed in partnership with Minehead BID (no longer active), Litter Free Coast and Sea and Somerset Wildlife Trust to offer guidance to local businesses on their plastic-free journeys and to promote and share best practice.
Plastic Free Minehead is a Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Community awarded its status in March 2021. It works with businesses, local councils, community allies and individuals in the town and across West Somerset as part of the wider Plastic Free Communities in West Somerset group.
We need to move away from our dependency on single use plastic and to consider more widely, as a society, how we can make a difference in face of the climate and ecological crises facing us. Businesses of all types and from across all sectors have a vital role to play to continue to make Minehead a truly ‘Plastic Free’ town and to practice and pilot innovative, sustainable, ‘green’ solutions.
